How to vote in Danish Election

The Danish General Elections will take place on Thursday 18 June 2015. Below you will find information on whether you are able to vote and how you vote in Ireland.


In order to vote for the General Elections you must be registered in the Danish electoral register. If you are not registered, you can find information on whether you are eligible and apply for registration on the link below (Danish only). How to vote

Danish citizens who are eligible and registered to vote, and who are in Ireland, will have the right to cast a vote at the Danish Embassy in Dublin or at the consulates in Waterford, Limerick, and Cork. Please note that if you are to vote at one of the consulates, you must make an appointment prior to voting. Find contact information on the consulates here.

There is no fixed deadline for voting in Ireland. However, votes must be cast early enough to arrive at the relevant Danish municipality before the polling commences in Denmark at 09:00 on 18 June 2015.

The Embassy is open for voting as follows:
Monday – Thursday: 09:00 – 16:30
Friday: 09:00 – 16:00

Please bring valid photo ID such as passport or driving licence.
