Schengen visa applications for Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Iceland are processed by the Embassy of Denmark in London.

Where is the Visa application processed?

Your visa application will be processed from the visa department at the Danish Embassy in London. You can contact the department at [email protected].

Your passport will be transferred to the Danish Embassy in Dublin. Once a decision is made by the visa department in London, the visa officer at the Danish Embassy in Dublin will return your passport to the VFS Global.

Where do I submit my Visa application?

Applications for visas for Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Iceland, and Work and/or Residence Permits for Denmark must be submitted at the VFS Visa Application Centre in Dublin.

Booking an appointment at VFS:

Please visit here to book an appointment at the VAC. 

  1. Go to the linked website
  2. Log in with your credentials (or register as a new user)
  3. Complete the appointment booking process 
  4. You will receive an appointment confirmation e-mail with your Appointment Letter attached as a PDF. 

NB: You will not be able to get an appointment sooner than the next time available unless there are unforeseen and serious circumstances. If it is an emergency, please contact the Embassy directly.

Booking an appointment at VFS Global for Visa

If you wish to make an application for a tourist visa or a visa to visit family and friends you must have an appointment at VFS Global. Book an appointment here.

If you wish to make an application for a business visa, an application to travel with your Irish/EU/EEA spouse/partner or an application for a Work and Residence Permit in Denmark you do not require an appointment. You may make your application at VFS Global between 2-3 pm Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

If you require an appointment to submit your visa application please check the appointment system prior to completing the Applyvisa online application to ensure that appointments are available to suit your intended travel dates.

The Embassy cannot offer fast-track or emergency visa appointments. In case of humanitarian emergencies, please contact the Embassy at [email protected].

Validity of Irish multi-entry visa and GNIB Card/Irish Residence Permit (IRP) card

The validity of the Irish multi-entry visa and GNIB Card/IRP Card must exceed that of your stay in the Schengen area by at least 3 months. From 13 May 2019 onwards, adults will no longer require an Irish multi-entry visa, a residence stamp in your passport and IRP Card will be sufficient.
