The Embassy of Denmark in Dublin is looking for a motivated and skilled person to undertake the position of Office Assistant.

You would be part of the small but dynamic team at the Embassy working across all fields - political, economic, commercial, cultural and consular - to enhance Danish interests in Ireland. Your position would include a variety of tasks so you must be systematic, flexible and efficient.

Your primary task will be to participate in the consular and administrative work of the Embassy and especially issue (check and print) visa stickers, work and residence permits. You will likewise assist in issuing passports to Danish citizens. You will also be guiding residents of Ireland regarding visiting, living and working in Denmark. Training will be provided and you should be open to learning new skills required for digitized visa and passport systems, permit and biometric systems.

You will also assist with other tasks at the Embassy. For example, substitute for the Personal Assistant for the Ambassador during holiday, reception duties and other administrative responsibilities, and in general giving a hand where it is needed.

About you:

You should hold a relevant office education and/or have experience in a similar position. You must have excellent written and oral communication skills in English and a flair and interest for office work.

Good computer skills are a prerequisite. Competency in Microsoft Office and an interest to learn and use new IT systems as required.

Be a team player eager to share and learn from colleagues. Have a methodical work approach; be able to work independently and efficiently. Be flexible, open-minded and service minded.

Employment

Fulltime and fully office-based position. The workweek is 37 hours including a daily 30 minutes paid lunch break. The position includes 25 paid holiday days per year. Irish bank holidays are additional to this.

You will have possibilities to develop your competences. Training in new systems and new competences will be given in-house, online and at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Denmark.

Salary will be based on qualifications and experience. You will be covered by a workplace pension scheme.

The successful candidate must gain security clearance via the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs. You will only be able to start once the clearance has been approved.

Employment full-time will start as soon as possible when security clearance has been issued. Paid onboarding and training work beforehand is a possibility.
