Legalisation and authentication
When a Danish document has to be used abroad, it often has to be legalised in Denmark first.
Documents have to be legalised in The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Denmark. You can find information about the legalisation procedure here.
Verification of copies
A verification is typically used as proof that a photocopy is a true copy of the original document. It may be a copy of a Danish passport or certain other official documents.
Verification does not have anything to do with the contents of a document. It merely confirms that it is a true copy.
Verifications are carried out by the Embassy's Passport Office. No appointment is necessary but please note the opening hours of the Embassy. The person whose document has to be verified must attend in person. A fee pr. document applies.
