The Embassy of Denmark in Dublin is looking for a motivated and skilled person to undertake the combined position of Consular Officer and Personal Assistant to the Ambassador

You would be part of the small but dynamic team at the Embassy working across all fields - political, economic, commercial, cultural and consular - to enhance Danish interests in Ireland. Your position would include a variety of tasks so you must be versatile and efficient. Your tasks would be divided between the following two main tasks:

Consular Officer:

Guiding Danish citizens and residents of Ireland regarding visiting, living and working in Denmark and Ireland. Assist in issuing passports, visas, work and residence permits. Training will be provided and you should be open to learning new skills required for digitized visa, permit and biometric systems.

PA to the Ambassador:

Keeping Outlook calendar up to date, setting up meetings, correspondence with Irish authorities and liaise with other embassies in Dublin. Reception duties, other secretarial tasks and back up functions as required.

About you:

You should hold a post-secondary education and/or have extensive experience in a similar position. You must have excellent written and oral communication skills in English and a flair for office work. Knowledge about Irish society and government is required.

Competency in Microsoft Office and a willingness to learn new IT systems as required.

Be a team player eager to share and learn from colleagues. Have a methodical work approach; be able to work independently and efficiently. Be flexible, open-minded and service minded.

Employment

Fulltime and fully office-based position. The workweek is 37 hours including a daily 30 minutes paid lunch break. The position includes 25 paid holiday days per year. Irish bank holidays are additional to this.

You will have great possibilities to develop your competences. Training in new systems and new competences will be given in-house, online and at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Salary will be based on qualifications and experience. You will be covered by a workplace pension scheme.

The successful candidate must gain security clearance via the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs. You will only be able to start once the clearance has been approved.

Employment full-time will start as soon as possible when security clearance has been issued. Paid onboarding and training work beforehand is a possibility.
